Treatment Process Overview

1. Equalisation

Balances effluent load by homogenizing wastewater in an equalization tank before further treatment.

2. pH Control

Adjusts the pH to within 5.5–9.0 using acids or bases as required.

3. Coagulation

Involves adding aluminum sulphate to make particles clump together for easier removal.

4. Sedimentation

Slows water flow to allow heavier particles to settle, forming sludge.

5. Filtration

Removes remaining particulates using sand and gravel layers.

6. Disinfection

Chlorine is used to kill harmful microorganisms before discharge.

7. Sludge Drying

Settled solids are dried naturally on beds before disposal.
